Candy For Charity

Hi! This is Caroline! Before we get to the point today I would like to thank everyone who has donated to Kids Help Kids. You have made an impact even if it doesn't seem like you did. I have huge news to add onto this. We have finally reached $600!!! I would like to thank everyone who made a difference through Kids Help Kids. I would like to send a special thanks to one person and that is Ivy Rodriguez. Ivy is an amazing person whose donation brought us to $600! My goal while creating this was to inspire and encourage kids to help their community and to make a change. Ivy is a great example of this and is taking matters into her own hands by donating to a non-profit that needs it. Thank you Ivy and everyone else who has donated! ❤

Now I am super excited to say that I am going to be hosting my first fundraiser on Monday, November 1st. Candy for Charity is a charity where people can donate their left over or extra candy to our candy collector bin. All of the candy that is collected at the end of the day will be donated to the Help and Hope center. I am super excited about Candy for Charity and am ready to make a difference through candy. The Help and Hope center used to be called the Task Force so that is what is listed on the donation page.

I have gotten many questions on why and how I am going to be doing this. Well here are the answers and please leave some questions in the post and I will totally answer them.

Question 1: Why are you doing this?

Thank you for asking a question and I am thrilled to answer your question. I am doing this because it is a great way to get rid of candy that is not needed or wanted. It will be going to a good cause and will be helping a lot of people. It is going to a better cause than just eating it.

Question 2: How did you think about doing this?

Thank you for asking this question! I actually was just sitting down and thinking of how I used to donate most of my Halloween candy to the dentist (lol) and I thought about what we were going to do now that we can't do that anymore and this idea came to me. I haven't been doing much with Kids Help Kids lately and I though that this would be a great way to add more to it!

Question 3: How are you doing this and how can I donate?

Well, it is actually very simple. I am just leaving a bucket out on the driveway for 3 hours and people can come and dump their candy into the bucket. I will then tally up the amount of candy that was raised and drive over to the Help and Hope center to drop off all of the candy. I sadly cannot put my address onto the website so I have a different option for people to donate. I have added in the option of donating to the Help and Hope center so you can donate actual money to them instead of candy. In the donation page, you can find the Help and Hope center and you should be allowed to add in a comment or a message. Type in "Candy for Charity" and your name so that you can be added to the list of donors. The Help and Hope center used to be called the Douglas/ Elbert Task Force so that is what is listed on the donation page. If you would like to donate, donate to the Douglas / Elbert Task Force! Thank you! Donation Link

Question 4: How are you advertising Candy for Charity?

That is a great question! It is actually really difficult to advertise for something that uses an address because you can't post it on social media or anything. I am actually going to hang up flyers around my neighborhood and am going to tell people about it when I take my brother Trick or Treating. It takes a lot to advertise. It is the hardest part of a business, but is the most important.

Thank you guys so much for reading! I am so glad to have to come along with me during my experience of Kids Help Kids! If you would like to help me make a difference, please tell others about Kids Help Kids and give them the link! (Kidshelpkidsco.com) Thank you all so much and have a great Halloween! Don't hesitate to donate because you'll want to celebrate!
